That’s right, folks. Book 2 in the Endure series is releasing in less than two months from now on August 26th. The story is written. The cover is created. The blurb is done. So what now?
Who likes puzzles? Ever solved a cipher?
Not sure what a cipher is? Allow me to explain…
What I’ve done is taken a bit of text out of Nemesis, substituted the letters for different ones, and now you have to decode the message. Here is your cipher:
Tui xyuimf xzz cyz cvzzx ge Yueumimi. G yzhv Rhmj hef Ehgu hvz rhvcgqimhvmt egqz hvuief jgfegkyc. Eucygek azcczv cyhe ngzdgek cyzj dgcy h qir ub pueh hef xujz jixgq ge cyz zhvx. Cvimt h qheeuc jgxx zwrzvgzeqz. Fzbgegczmt euc xujzcygek tui xyuimf cyvud hdht.
Of course, you’ll need a few things to solve this puzzle. Your first hint is that the most common letter in words written in English is the letter E. So if we look above… hmm… there are an awful lot of Z’s up there (so Z = E). As these typically go, I should only give you one more hint (for instance, H = A), but I’m gonna be extra nice and tell you that K = G too. And what do you see often paired with G’s at the ends of words? Yeah. You can see where this is going. You’ll need to follow leaps of logic and use what you know about the construction of words and sentences to unscramble the text above.
Now, why on Earth would I make you solve that thing? Aside from getting a peek at a few choice sentences from Nemesis, what’s the payoff? The payoff is in this word:
xcgekvht
Using the key you uncover from the coded message, you can apply it to the single word above for another hint at the Nemesis plot. Not only that, but there’s a special, password protected post here that contains the blurb for book 2! Unscramble that single word, use it as the password and you get an early peek at what’s coming up for Lydia and Daniel! Now, after blog tour the second, which ends July 22, this post will be unlocked for the world to see. So, you can wait it out, I suppose, but aren’t you a teensy bit curious? You know you are!
Happy puzzling!
Thoughts. We needs them, Precious.
