So, that Dragon*Con thing happened again this past weekend. I don’t have quite the epic story of epicness that I did last year, but here’s a few little things from the weekend.
It’s been a long time in the making, but I am proud to present to you the all new website for all things me!
WELCOME TO STARLAHUCHTON.COM!
Oh, where to start with this one? SO MUCH has happened over the course of one weekend, but I can’t really talk about a lot of the details as nothing may come of it and I don’t want to jinx myself. I guess I’ll start with this:
ANTIGONE’S WRATH IS A PRIZE-WINNER!
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you likely know about my new adventure.
I have finished my graphic design degree and am now actively seeking paid design work. I wanted to tell you all about this, and a little about why what I do is such an important service.
You can probably guess that as a writer I love telling stories. That is doubly true for my design work. Even if it’s a simple business card, my ultimate goal with everything I do is to create an image that tells a story about who or what the contents are. In a word, a story.
It has occurred to me of late that it’s been awhile since I’ve posted on the blog. So I looked tonight and realized it’s been nearly THREE MONTHS since my last posting. Uh… oops.
Things have been quite crazy around here. I’ve been neck deep in the final semester of my Graphic Design degree and it hasn’t left much room for anything else. What little time I do have, has been filled with all the creative projects I can possibly cram into it. This post is a little glimpse into the sort of things I’ve been doing.
In honor of my recent mastering of eBook conversion, I’m doing a little giveaway!
Couldn’t make it to Balticon to catch the unveiling of the first two chapter’s of Antigone’s Wrath? Is the audio just not enough?
Alas, the amazing Paulette Jaxton could not be captured in the frame, but everyone else’s lovely mugs are there for you to see!
-Edit: Before listening to this, I would ask you to view this page first. It is not required, but it may add some context for you. –
Santa dropped me an email and said you all might like this little gift from myself, Phil Rossi, and Scott Sigler, so, him being Santa and all, we obliged him. Take care for little ears though. This winter tune is not safe for kids.
Enjoy the laugh, and Happy Holidays to you all!
So, in case you didn’t notice, the website now displays the shiny gold badge of the Parsec Award Finalist on the Home page.
How are you guys liking the snazzy new website design? My web guru spent the good part of last week wrestling with WordPress to bring it to life. So far, I’m diggin’ it. Kudos to Scott for all the hard work and straight determination.
The last time I put out a post updating the cast, I told you all about Tee Morris lending his voice to this project. What I didn’t tell you about was some of the other folks that have signed on as well. Tee gets SO much attention, I didn’t want him overshadowing some of these other peeps that are just as awesome.
