Somehow, amidst algebra woes and editing and minion herding, Balticon 45 has snuck up on me! After a flurry of activity and scrambling yesterday, the thing that I was hoping would happen, is actually happening!
I will be presenting the opening chapters of ANTIGONE’S WRATH as a FULL CAST live reading at Balticon!
That’s right! How amazing and exciting is this? It was completely last minute thanks to a friend who helped me out after seeing me whinge on Twitter about the late night 30 minute time slot I was given (to be fair, it was opposite both the George Hrab concert and Steampunk Ball). After a few hours of furious messaging between myself and several talented folks, I assembled a stunning cast and (miracle of miracles!) all of their schedules lined up with a prime convention spot! It feels fated in some weird way. Things couldn’t have lined up better if I had planned them purposely.
So who is this incredible cast I’ve wrangled, you ask?
The EVENT will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28th in Salon D of the Balticon hotel. There are no major events at that time, for which I am extremely grateful, so I’m hoping for a really good turnout. If you plan to be at Balticon, please drop by! Got Steampunk gear? Even better! Head over to the event page on Facebook to tell everyone you’ll be there!
For those of you unable to make The Event, have no fear! While I won’t have the luxury of personal microphones for every cast member, there will be audio AND video recording taking place. This means you will get to hear and/or see the unveiling of the new novel, but not live. Had I more time to wrangle equipment and people, I would’ve attempted some live streaming setup thing, but at this late a date it’s highly unlikely to happen.
I’m working up posters to paste all over the convention to draw in folks that might miss the program listing or not hear about the concentrated awesome. My next job is getting advanced scripts to my cast so they can prepare for their roles. Lots of things have to happen before Balticon, so here’s hoping I can get everything done that needs doing!
Thoughts. We needs them, Precious.
